Children’s and Youth Religious Education
Wildflower strives to support parents by providing a meaningful religious education program
that makes a positive difference in children’s and youth’s lives.
Ages of Children We Serve
Our children and youth religious education (CYRE) program serves children PK-8th grade . Our program follows a “one room school house” model of mixed-age learning. The lessons and activities allow all ages to explore big questions and ideas together in a flexible, joyful, and inclusive environment. The second Sunday of each month is a Zoom-only church service with no in-person CYRE program. The CYRE program meets on the first, third, and fourth Sundays of the month.
What Happens on Sunday?
Children and youth stay with their parents for the first 15 minutes of the worship service, which begins at 11:45 am. After the congregation “sings the children and youth out,” teachers lead them to their classes. The children’s program ends at about 1:00 pm, after the Worship Service ends. To promote child and youth safety, two adults are present in childcare and all classes. In accordance with our Safe Church policy, all RE teachers and care providers undergo background checks.
What do we teach in CYRE?
JET ❤️ PIG

As Unitarian Universalists, we promise to work together to center these shared values in our world and community:
Justice –Work for everyone to be treated with fairness and respect.
Equity –Make sure everyone gets what they need (not always the same as what others need).
Transformation –Remember that we are all learning and change is possible (and expected!)
Pluralism –Listen to all voices, knowing there’s always more than one right way.
Interdependence –Be someone others can depend on and know that your actions affect others.
Generosity –Share generously, both physical materials and also what’s in our minds and hearts.
and we put Love at the center of all we do

Getting Started in Religious Education
Before your child’s first Sunday in the religious education program, please register them by filling out a Registration Form. Parents are always welcome to visit the RE and childcare classes.
The Unitarian Universalist faith doesn’t pretend to give children all the answers to the big questions. Unitarian Universalism puts its faith in people’s ability to explore the unknown together.
