Embracing Hope in Anxious Times
Religion can be thought of as having two main purposes: giving hope in hard times and finding meaning in suffering. Perhaps overly simplistic but there feels like some truth there. We seem to be living in anxious times with the increasing political and social polarization of our country, fear of climate catastrophe, and growing distrust of our institutions. Does it even make sense to be hopeful in these times or is it just a naïve denial of reality? This worship service will explore where the possibilities of hope may be at this time and how our anxiety itself may be a source of hope.
