From Eve to Us
The year was 2016, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were running for president, and Erin Walter was serving as Wildflower's intern minister. During that time, the now Rev. Walter wrote and delivered a sermon titled "From Eve to Hillary," examining sexism and misogyny in religion, politics, and even ourselves and our own congregation. That sermon went on to win the Sermon Award from the UU Women's Federation and be featured at 2017 UUA General Assembly in New Orleans. This Sunday, with another intense election season upon us (and a female candidate who is "not aspiring to be humble"), Rev. Walter returns with an updated version of this award-winning sermon, now titled "From Eve to Us." Join us in welcoming back our former intern and community minister and honoring a piece of Wildflower history. (Rev. Erin and her bandmate Andrew Solin from Parker Woodland will also provide music for the service and stay to sign copies of their new album in coffee hour.
Children and youth in grades pre-k through 12th will be meeting in person in their classes after being present in the sanctuary for the first part of the service. The nursery is available for babies and children from 6 weeks to 5 years old during the entire service period. You may choose either option for your child if they are 5 years old.
