All Aunt Hagar’s Children
ZOOM ONLY
Join Minister Dana N. Moore on a journey through history to discover biological and spiritual lineages that keep us connected in surprising ways! Inspired by the book of Genesis, theologian Delores Williams’ book Sisters in the Wilderness, and Dana’s own Conservative Christian upbringing, we’ll explore our shared heritage from a Universalist perspective, and with a hermeneutic of suspicion. Tales of the supernatural and encounters with the divine parallel this spooky Halloween season and weave together UU Principles 2, 4, 6, and 8.
When not nurturing her two beautiful children, Dana N. Moore is committed to being a social justice warrior through her ministry work with youth and young adults. She calls the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Montclair her spiritual home and foundation of her lay leadership. Dana is a 3 rd year MDiv Student at Starr King School for the Ministry, one of only two UU theological schools in the nation. There she serves on the student Body Gov’t and delights in studying feminine leadership and world religion. Dana loves cheese of all kinds, purple everything!, and learning and collaborating with fellow UUs. She is a St. Lawrence scholar, and the 2023-24 Intern Minister, also known as Student Minister, at UUC Shelter Rock in Manhasset, NY. This year, Dana looks forward to exploring covenants and conflict in community, and meeting more UUs as she interviews congregations for the UUA Commission on Appraisal’s most current project: The Changing Landscape of Unitarian Universalism.
This is a ZOOM ONLY service. There will be no children's or youth religious education classes.
