Water Ceremony

Water has a profound impact on human culture and a variety of symbolism in different religious traditions. In Unitarian Universalism, we traditionally have a late summer Water Communion where we celebrate our unity within our diversity. Given the ongoing destruction of Hurricane Harvey to our friends, family, and neighbors near the Texas coast, we will use our Water Communion to explore our emotions related to the tragic flooding and destruction we are witnessing. Please join us in our traditional ritual of adding water to the communal bowel as we express our grief as well as our gratitude for the many ways water affects our lives.
