Our Body Keeps a Score – Coping With Trauma
Psychological Trauma damages our psyche as a result of a severely distressing event. Many of us are familiar with the impact of post-combat trauma on military personnel, post-abuse trauma for victims of sexual or physical assault, and post-event trauma for victims of disasters. Trauma can raise profound spiritual and emotional questions. We can often think about trauma as an individual experience but what about our response to trauma as a community? This worship service will explore the spiritual concerns of trauma and how a religious community can respond to the spiritual and emotional questions raised.
