Let us Serve One Another

Reflections and celebration of ministry and life of the Rev. Absalom Jones (November 7, 1746 – February 13, 1818), an African American abolitionist and clergyman. Absalom Jones’ ministry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was one of compassion, political advocacy, institution building, compelling preaching and community organizing. What examples of community care, change, and serving others does his legacy offer us as models for today?

Simone Monique Barnes (she/her) serves as the Director of Membership and Spiritual Life of Wildflower. She loves joy practices like swimming, laughter yoga, afternoon tea, music, and dance, which help provide the fuel she needs to stay in “good trouble” doing the work to build and nurture the beloved community.

Children and youth in grades pre-k through 12th will be meeting in person in their classes after being present in the sanctuary for the first part of the service. The nursery is available for babies and children from 6 weeks to 5 years old during the entire service period. You may choose either option for your child if they are 4.5 or 5 years old.
