Kindness

speaker:
Lilah Sturges has spent a lot of time thinking about what kindness means. It's kind of a personal obsession with her, this idea of being good toward others for its own sake. We all know that even a small kindness can change someone's day, or even--at the right moment--change the course of a life. But what even is kindness? And why is it important? Why is it so powerful? And how is it achieved? Lilah doesn't know the exact answers to any of these questions, but she has some interesting thoughts about them, and she's excited to share them with you!
Lilah Sturges is an award-winning and best-selling comic book writer, whose works include the PRISM-award winning Lumberjanes: The Infernal Compass, the Eisner nominated Jack of Fables, and many others. Her most recent book, Girl Haven, a transgender coming-of-age fantasy graphic novel, was released in February. She does not have an advanced degree in theology because she dropped out of Duke Theological Seminary a week before classes started. She lives in Austin, Texas with her wife, her daughter, and three cats.
