200th Anniversary of Unitarian Christianity: The Birth of Our Movement

speaker: Michelle Baker, Rev. Brian Ferguson | On May 5th, 1819, one of the most important sermons in our Unitarian Universalist history was delivered in Baltimore by William Ellery Channing.  The title of the sermon was called Unitarian Christianity and marks the beginning of Unitarianism as a separate religious movement in North America.  Without this sermon and the person who delivered it, Unitarian Universalism may not exist as the movement we are today. This worship service will honor the 200th Anniversary of this sermon while exploring why it is so important and how it still has such a powerful influence our movement.
