The primary purpose of the Disability Team is to fully integrate Wildflowers and visitors with disabilities into all aspects of the Wildflower congregation and community. Our initial goal was to eliminate architectural and physical barriers to full participation at Wildflower, starting with making the building, facilities and grounds accessible. With the help of Wildflowers and Faith Presbyterian, the following improvements were made: leveling the concrete pavers in front of the Community Room (CR), installing accessible diaper changing stations in the restrooms thereby improving wheelchair access, reducing the HVAC noise in the CR, installing ramps in the CR and more. We are currently working with other teams to assist in identifying barriers to full inclusion and in finding reasonable solutions. The Disability Team recruits Wildflowers with disabilities to assist in trainings and as subject matter experts. We are honored to work with other Wildflowers in our overall goal of radical inclusion and welcome.
