Join Wildflower’s CTI Team and leaders from other CTI institutions, including HT
students for a fun, non-partisan GIANT GOTV BLOCKWALK Saturday, September
14th in Precinct 403 on Austin’s East Side!
This precinct has one of the lowest voter turnouts in the County, and has been
underserved by government, and has inequity in parks and greenspaces. It includes
Tillery Field, site of the proposed and much needed soccer facility for HT and the
Eastside soccer clubs, which currently must play home games in Roundrock for lack of
a soccer center on the East side. Our goal is to have conversations with voters,
dramatically boost turnout and help make this new soccer center a reality!
Can you spare a few hours to help cover the entire precinct? Friends and family,
including youth, younger kids with parents are all welcome to join us for the walk.
Bring hats, water bottles, and meet up 9/14 at 8:30 am at historic Ebenezer Baptist
Church, 1010 E. 10th Street, 78702 for coffee and light breakfast & brief orientation.
We’ll pair up English and Spanish speakers, get walk packets with maps, scripts, voter
information, registration cards etc, and head out. We always have some great
conversations with neighbors (and some memorable stories to tell at our debrief back at
the church!) We’ll be completely done by Noon.
