Community Service and Conversation

Zoom Only Service

https://zoom.us/j/95255929970?pwd=RjI2VCtOWExwT01ib1dDUHFXbjVsdz09]

Join us this Sunday for our community service on Zoom. We will have about a half hour together to hear music, share your joys and concerns and ground in a meditation. Then you can grab your favorite beverage and snack and join a small group in break-out rooms on Zoom.

Since this is a Zoom only service, there will be no children’s and youth religious education classes.

**Don’t Miss Our 1st Wildflower Community Karaoke!

From 5:30 - 7:30 pm on Sunday evening, gather in the Community Room to share the fun of singing Karaoke! This community building event will be hosted by Laura Jo Acuña and David Rosenbaum. You are invited to bring snacks to share.

In March and April, our spiritual life theme is Sacred Healing.

We believe in the possibility of positive change. When we engage with reality using sacred tools, such as listening and discernment, sacred healing is the magic that changes our perspectives, so we can see what needs to be done to cultivate thriving.

Wildflower Enters a Time of Community Building and Transition

Wildflower is making an effort to spend more time together from March 1st through April 12th (exception is 3/8 when the service will be Zoom-only with option for conversation in break-out rooms). We would like to get to know one another and build relationships as we engage in the often-challenging work of healing and envisioning change.

We will start our time each Sunday with a half hour of worship and then spend time together in conversation over food. After this time, there will typically be an event related to our well-being and community transition.
We will provide childcare on request for certain sessions. The Children’s and Youth Religious Education classes will start at the same time as the service, and end with time for the participants to enjoy food with their accompanying adults.

The general flow of Sunday mornings is below. Please watch what emerges in the time frame after the Community service and food! Our facilitated transition processes are not solidified because this kind of collective work often unearths hidden needs. Our facilitator will be working to help us meet them. Many teams and members of the Board are working closely to support this new period in our church life. Please consider being present on Sundays to contribute to the development of our community and feed yourself spiritually and relationally!

Congregational News and Events

We DID It!!

Wildflower Church took part in Amplify Austin, and we surpassed our goal of $5000!  6 pm today was the cutoff and we  received a grand total of $5475!!!!

Y’all. We did it! Thanks to every one of you who reached out to your peers to help us achieve this goal. More info to come, but KUDOS to us and the friends and family who helped us EXCEED our 5k goal.  This is what community looks like.

We Have Selected a Facilitator for Our Transition Process!

The Facilitator Selection Team (Daniela Silva, Shiloh Venable, Laura Miller, Paula Vaughan, Alyxis Mize, and Dee Adams) has selected Rockie Gonzalez as Wildflower’s facilitator for our Transition Process. Healing, Visioning and Creating. Our process of selection included gathering consultant names and having clarifying conversations with the 7 people who were suggested either by congregants or by the consultants contacted. From that outreach, we received 3 proposals, interviewed 2 people, and selected Rockie. We are engaging with her now to create a contract and scope of work.

Rockie brings rich experience doing healing and transitional work with non-profits and approaches her work with a strong anti-racist and anti-oppression lens (is a trainer for Undoing Racism). As we work with Rockie a specific schedule will emerge to integrate into our Sunday schedule.

We appreciate your trust in us. We now are changing our name to be the Transition Support Team. Please let us know if you would like to be a part of this team.

The Board is forming a Finance Team to create a budget for the second half of 2026. Members would review finances, fundraising, and projected income and work with the Treasurer to draft a budget for a congregational vote in June. If you are interested or would like to recommend someone, please contact the Board. board@wildflower.org

I hope you and your loved ones are doing well. We are excited to share the official invitation to the Sew Indigenous Fashion Show.

Join us for an iconic evening as The Native American Cultural Center hosts its first-ever Fashion Show of Contemporary Native Design. With VIP guest models who live in Travis County.

With a curated menu using foods native to this land and region by Indigenous Chefs from Chantiko’s Kitchen, a mocktail bar provided by an Indigenous mixologist, and speciality desert options.

The event will feature original designs by Indigenous artisans—many of whom participate in the Center’s Sew Indigenous weekly programming—alongside the nationally recognized work of Artistic Director Nan Blassingame.

Proceeds from the evening will directly support the Native American Cultural Center’s nonprofit programs, artists, and community impact.
